Vanderheiden Closes Out July with Successful Weekend

Back to business was Cole Vanderheiden on Friday night with a visit to Crawford County Speedway (Dennison, Iowa) on Friday night for the team's final visit of the year to the oval. Twelve IMCA Race Saver Sprint Cars entered the program, and after starting and finishing fifth in his heat race, Cole lined up ninth in the feature.

In the night's 20-lap finale, Cole raced from ninth to fourth including gaining two positions following a late-race caution with a pair of circuits remaining. Based on his season finishes he moved into second in the track's championship standings.

On Saturday evening the team thundered into Eagle (Neb.) Raceway, where double features were on tap as the facility made up the main event that rained out the week prior.

Starting fourth in the make-up feature, Cole raced to as high as the second position before jumping the cushion on the final lap, which relegated him to a fourth-place finish.

For the night's new show a staggering 36 entries were on hand, and Cole started fourth in his heat race. He advanced to a third-place finish, which positioned him seventh on the feature grid.

In the main event, he would battle the handle to a 14th-place finish.
