ColeTrain Bags First Career Sprint Car Win

Friday night at Crawford County Speedway (Denison, Iowa) found Cole Vanderheiden's dreams coming true. The driver known as "ColeTrain" stormed to his first-career 305 c.i. Race Saver Sprint Car feature win!

The Nebraska racer started the night by racing from the fourth-starting spot to the heat race win, which earned him the third-starting spot for the main event against a talented 19-car field.

As the feature went green Cole quickly moved into the second position and began stalking the leader. A few laps later he would catapult into the lead and would build a sizeable lead before a caution at the race's midway point regrouped the field.

Despite having his lead erased Vanderheiden maintained his composure and held the top spot for the remainder of the event en route to his inaugural trip to Victory Lane in his Sprint Car.

He was followed across the finish line by Mike Houseman Jr., Dusty Ballenger, Danny Nekolite, and Max Roseland.

On Saturday night the team looked to carry their momentum into Eagle (Neb.) Raceway. Unfortunately the night would start a little slower than the young driver had hoped as he slid backwards from the fourth-starting spot a seventh-place finish in the third heat race.

He would go on to race his way into the feature out of the B-Main. After starting 19th he finished 18th in the caution free, 25-lap affair.

Monday night's scheduled event at Huset's Speedway was canceled after severe storms heavily damaged the facility.
